Chip Buck has been designing and building sails for the past 27 years in his hometown of San Diego, California. 

1991, Learned sailmaking by building windsurfing sails for himself and his friends.

1992, Worked at North Sails One Design building sails for the '92 Summer Olympics.

1994, Hired as a sailmaker for the Pact '95 America's Cup Team.

1995-1998, Managed Hobie Cat's sail loft, instrumental in bringing their loft into the digital age.

2006, Chip launches Whirlwind Sails, a brand specific to beach cat sailors.
